West Street tip is owned and operated by Barnsley council, West Street Recycling Centre allows you to recycle the following items here:

- wood and chipboards
- cardboard
- paper
- metal
- large electrical items
- small electrical items
- hard plastic
- textiles and shoes
- glass bottles and jars
- cans
- car oil
- cooking oil
- household batteries
- televisions
- fridges and freezers (domestic only)
- soil and rubble (maximum of 5 x 25kg bags within any 6 month period)
- cardboard drinks cartons
- domestic fluorescent tubes and bulbs

You need a permit to use the household waste recycling centre, the centre is for Barnsley residents household waste use only.
