Merrimac recycling centre is managed by the city of gold coast, Merrimac recycling allows you to dispose of the following items here:

- Comingled recyclables (yellow top bins) – aluminium cans, paper, plastic and glass bottles
- Concrete (small domestic loads only)
- Cooking oil (up to 20 litres)
- Domestic green waste
- Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB)
- eWaste
- Gas bottles – empty (up to 9 kilograms)
- Household hazardous waste, e.g. paint, pool chlorine, herbicides, fuel, oven cleaners, etc. (up to 20 litres)
- Motor oil
- Scrap metal
- Soil and clean fill (road base and clay base only – small domestic loads only)
- White goods (degassing available)
