Norwalk Transfer Station is owned and operated by City of Norwalk Government, Norwalk Recycling Facility allows you to dispose of the following items here:

  • Solid Waste or Household Garbage
  • Bulky items – Furniture, carpet, etc.
  • Wood – 4 feet or smaller
  • Latex Paint – MUST BE DRIED & SOLID
  • Plastic Bags & Film
  • Paper – newspaper, magazines & catalogs, junk mail, etc.
  • Paper – mixed paper, cereal boxes, empty food boxes, etc.
  • Paper – hardcover and paperback books, phone books
  • Plastic Bottles & Containers
  • Glass food and beverage containers
  • Metal food and beverage containers
  • Scrap Metal
  • Electronics – TVs, Computers, etc.
  • Hard or Rigid Plastic
  • Propane Tanks (Fee)
  • Tires (Fee)
  • Batteries – Lead Acid/car batteries, Alkaline, Lithium Ion (Fee)
  • Cooking Oil: Residential Only – No limit or Fee
  • Used or Waste Motor Oil: Residential Only – 5 gal max
  • Antifreeze: Residential Only – 5 gal max (Fee)
  • Oil Filter: Residential Only – 3 per day max
  • Freon Appliances – AC Units, Refrigerators, Dehumidifier, etc. (Fee)
  • Water Softeners – Salt MUST be removed from the tube
  • Textiles – Gently used clothing and shoes
